Dimensional Shift Waters of Babylon eBook Michelle Stone
I want to compliment the author, Michelle Stone, on her improvement as a writer. She still has more to do, but this book was light years better than book 1. There was so much she could do differently and in my opinion better. However I am enjoying this series. Book 3 is waiting for me to start. A big bonus, which is impressive, is there were no grammatical errors that I remember seeing and even better no formatting errors. Now this I truly appreciate. So many wannabe's are attempting to write and they are learning nothing from their feeble attempts. I was worried that book one was what I was going to get with book 2. It was not. 4 stars means I will probably re read this series at some time.
Read this series you will enjoy it!

Dimensional Shift Waters of Babylon eBook Michelle Stone Reviews
I wanted to take the time to review this book because I believe this writer has a lot of potential. In the sequel "Dimensional Shift Waters of Babylon", Michelle Stone does a great job of getting you caught up in the characters lives to the point where you don't want the story to end. I liked the first book "Dimensional Shift First Step" as well.
Pretty obviously used to provide character development and plot starter for a series. Took many many pages to get going.
I thought it was a good story and different from the usual science fiction. It was a enjoyable read.
This is the second volume in the Dimensional Shift trilogy. As I mentioned in my review of that book this book is pretty much a must read . Two new technologies are revealed. The first quantifes love into mathematics. What does that mean? I'll spoil the story if I reveal the answer. But it's done convincingly. The second technology isn't really an invention at all but a biological discovery.
The author delves into ecological problems that go far beyond our short horizons on global warming. The characters are stymied as they are faced with a world spinning out of control. I was intrigued how the author deals with artificial gravity. She doesn't! Rather she uses acceleration of objects to great effect in replacing that most elusive scifi technology. Fascinating stuff!
As I mentioned before the concepts in this series are well planned and implemented. The characters while sort of whimpy in First Step are given room to grow and expand their horizons. This is a much better story. Perhaps it is because I learned to be patient with this author's unique writing style and wait for the unbelievable to be explained.
This volume does have a great ending so I could have been very satisfied after reading it. But there were nagging little details that needed answers. So I eagerly read Millenarians.
If I like books, I rate them with 4 or 5 stars. I'll finish a 3 star book, but I usually don't bother with reviews. I loved this book!
A well thought out story, with some very likable people, who have been put in the middle of a disaster on earth. People in orbit working on saving our planet. Mind beyond comprehension, people older than human memories, all working for humanity!
In reviewing the first book of the trilogy, I said that the "magic" of the technology was so powerful that it did not allow much of a challenge to the main characters. In the second book, this is corrected by presenting huge and overpowering problems to the characters and to the world itself. Without spoiling the plot, suffice it to say that civilization itself is in jeopardy through most of this book. It is definitely an exciting story.
A key part of any sci-fi story is the requirement that the reader "suspend disbelief" long enough to get involved in the plot. Both of these books require that you believe that the fate of the world could truly be totally in the hands of just a few people who have amazing capabilities and psychic powers. For those willing to make that leap of faith, the author provides a rewarding and high-velocity ride through disasters and the struggle to overcome them.
I am looking forward to reading the third book in the series.
I enjoyed the first book but not so much this one. Contrived disasters with equally contrived solutions. The entire thing of the two main characters being separated to keep contamination from the floating "city" was silly once everyone knew the city could not continue and plant life was restarted. Everyone and everything had to return dirt side and there was zero reason to stay apart.
There were a lot of other flaws in the story that shouldn't have happened and there was no reason for them if the author thought thing through a bit more. No, I'm not going to buy book three.
